Lock-screen alerts are optional. They use the same swap and forum notices as Alerts in the header. Email preferences stay separate — you can keep email off and still get a phone ping, or the other way around.
Turn them on
- Sign in on the phone you want alerts on.
- On iPhone, add the site to your Home Screen first, then open it from that icon (Safari 16.4+).
- Go to My profile → Emails & phone.
- Tap Turn on this phone and Allow when the browser asks.
- Optional: tap Send a test to make sure a ping shows up.
Good to know
- Each phone is separate. Turn on your home phone and your travel phone if you want both.
- Turn off this phone stops pings on that device. You can also block notifications in the phone’s site settings.
- Android Chrome can turn alerts on in the browser. iPhone only after Add to Home Screen.
